The Advantage has a rugged hardrive, shock-mounted in it's 3.5" bay. Full chassis Sorbothane suspension and two forms of corrosion protection complete the SeaSafe marinization process.

4 serial ports allow multiple NMEA 0183 instruments, like a GPS, Anemometer and Depth Sounder to be connected without the added expense of a multiplexer, and still have a serial port for your touch screen monitor. 12VDC power eliminates the need for a DC adapter.

This is a fast computer with an AGP on-board video chip having 64MB of video ram for the very fast screen refreshes needed for seamless chart display. No extra charge for DVD and software.

Beyond stamped sheet metal, the Advantage features a very rugged, heavy gauge extruded aluminum case that adds durability and also helps cooling.

We see that recently manufacturers have started to carry a unit based on the same barebone case. Ours have shock mounted hardrives, conformal coating, vapor corrosion inhibitors and sorbothane chassis suspension. How about 4 serial ports? That's what separates this marine computer from home units.
