NMEA multiplexers and expanders from Noland Engineering

The DX28 Dual Expander is a 2-channel signal distribution box for NMEA 0183 signals. It can be configured as two 1-in x 4-out expanders, a single 1-in x 8-out expander, or an auto switching unit. The two inputs are completely independent (except in Auto switch mode) and can operate at the same or different baud rates up to 38,400.
The NM42 Serial Multiplexer combines up to four NMEA 0183 inputs into a single serial output for connection to a host computer or other NMEA 0183 devices. A Talker port is also provided to allow the computer to send data (waypoints, etc.) to instruments.
The NM42U USB Multiplexer combines up to four NMEA 0183 inputs into a single serial output for connection to a host computer (via USB) or other NMEA 0183 devices. A Talker port is also provided to allow the computer to send data (waypoints, etc.) to instruments.
The XS25 Auto-Switching Expander selects a backup data input whenever the primary data input goes inactive. Besides this auto-switching feature, it enables NMEA 0183 talkers to drive multiple listeners where necessary. It provides a single opto-isolated input and four RS-422 outputs plus a fifth RS-232 output.
The XP15 Expander enables NMEA 0183 talkers to drive multiple listeners where necessary. It provides a single opto-isolated input and four RS-422 outputs plus a fifth RS-232 output. A status LED flashes when input is detected and also shows overload conditions.
The Vessel Monitor combines vessel and engine monitoring capability with NMEA 0183 data multiplexing. In addition to its NMEA inputs, the VS52 (or VS52U) accepts analog and digital input signals directly from the vessel/engine sensors or gauges. The information is processed and displayed by the supplied C-port software program on a Windows PC. Data logging and playback is included in the software.
