The Advantage 4
has a rugged hardrive, shock-mounted in it's 3.5" bay. Full
chassis Sorbothane suspension and two forms of corrosion protection
complete the SeaSafe marinization process.
4 serial ports
allow multiple NMEA 0183 instruments, like a GPS, Anemometer and
Depth Sounder to be connected without the added expense of a
multiplexer, and still have a serial port for your touch screen
monitor.
This is a fast
computer with an AGP on-board video chip having 224MB of video ram
for the very fast screen refreshes needed for seamless chart
display.
For convenient
video and data transfer, a DVD Dual Layer Burner is standard.
Beyond stamped
sheet metal, the Advantage 4 features a very rugged, heavy gauge
extruded aluminum case that adds durability and also helps cooling.
